The PADI Assistant Instructor Course is the first part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (PADI IDC). Candidates undertaking the PADI IDC have the choice of completing the full program in one course, or being certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor and gaining more experience before continuing on to complete the PADI OWSI Program (the second part of the PADI IDC).

Undertaking the PADI AI Course gives you the chance to develop and refine your teaching skills for confined water, knowledge development and open water situations.

Certification as a PADI Assistant Instructor allows you the opportunity to develop your teaching skills by working as an instructional assistant on real life courses, before completing the other part of the PADI IDC - the OWSI Program - and the PADI Instructor Examination. Completing the PADI AI Course and then continuing on with the PADI OWSI Program will allow you to maximise your experience in a variety of teaching scenarios

In addition, you'll be able to teach a range of PADI programs, such as the Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty and the Project AWARE Specialty.

Our PADI Assistant Instructor Courses is conducted over three days, and includes a free Project AWARE Specialty course, which allows you to gain valuable experience with a course you'll be able to teach.

To commence your PADI Assistant Instructor Course you'll start by undertaking the PADI IDC Online eLearning program. This needs to be completed anytime prior to the start of your course.
